It’s back! Renowned Particle Illusion (formerly particleIllusion) gets a total overhaul in Continuum 2019. Redesigned from the ground up as a 64-bit application, Particle Illusion gives editors and artists access to an easy-to-use, powerful, high-end particle and motion graphics generator. Instantly create preset-driven photorealistic motion-tracked particle effects for titles, lower thirds, and background graphics. Learn more about Particle Illusion.
Particle Illusion is available inside Continuum 2019 as a plug-in and as a standalone application. Particle Illusion is also included in the Particles Unit.
Users already know and love the Academy Award-winning Mocha planar tracking tools integrated directly inside Continuum. The Continuum 2019 release provides some major updates. Say yes to faster effects masking and rotoscoping.
What’s the difference between Mocha tracking inside Continuum and the full Mocha Pro version? Compare.
Title Studio is a next-gen 2D/3D titling plug-in that can be used as a custom interface plug-in or standalone application. Easily create high-quality professional 2D or 3D titles with custom bevels, fills and styles; import 3D models from Maxon C4D or Adobe Illustrator EPS files; and add OpenGL-accelerated features like 3D extrusions, materials, cameras, lights, and deformers.
* Avid Effects Simplified: The introduction of Mocha-based parameter tracking renders most non-real time blue dot filters unnecessary. Non-real time filters have been moved into an obsolete folder to support the older legacy Continuum tracker. * External Broadcast Monitor Support: Applications like Title Studio and the FX Browser now support external broadcast monitors. Currently only available for Blackmagic Design, AJA coming soon. * Deep Color 32-bit Support in Premiere Pro: The 32-bit float color processing option in Continuum, which has always been available in hosts such as After Effects, has been extended to include the Premiere Pro host with deep color support enabling users to generate HDR content without clipping.
The Academy Award-winning Mocha planar tracking and masking application is integrated inside almost every single filter in Continuum! This empowers editors to do more advanced finishing work right within the filter without having to leave editing project timelines.
Mocha can be used to generate user-defined closed spline shapes, which can be tracked individually or as a group using the Mocha planar tracker. These static or animated mask shapes can then be used to isolate the result of any filter to a specific region in the source shot (e.g., isolating a blur to someones face). The Mocha tracker can also be used to drive other filter parameters, such as screen / billboard replacement, face tracking, etc.
Fun Fact : Mask and tracking data from any Mocha session can be exported and used in any other Mocha session. This includes sharing tracking mask and tracking data from Mocha Pro and the integrated Mocha in Continuum, or even, Sapphire.

Fun fact: The Academy Award-winning doc O.J.: Made in America, which weaved together footage from tons of different sources, relied heavily on Continuum’s Image Restoration tools to keep the audience focused on the captivating story.
Easily chroma key and composite using the same Academy Award nominated compositing tech (Photron’s Primatte) as major blockbusters like the Lord of the Rings series, Harry Potter films, and Spider-Man. The new Primatte Studio is the ultimate blue/green screen toolset. Exclusive features include:
Automatic green/blue screen analysis Manual transparency tuning Adjust lighting to correct unevenly lit screens Foreground object detection to deliver a perfect key with a single color sample Integrated Academy Award winning Mocha masking and planar tracking system
Note: Primatte Studio is not currently available for Apple hosts
Transitions in Continuum are a major time-saver for anyone facing constant deadlines. Continuum includes almost 40 drag & drop auto-animating transitions with over 500 professionally designed factory installed presets. Every transition filter in Continuum also includes sophisticated yet easy to use HUD style on-screen controls, which can be used to make quick adjustments to the timing of the animation and the look of the transition effect.
Popular transitions and dissolves include Swish Pan, Flutter Cut, Fast Film Glow, Light Leaks, Lens Blur and Damaged TV.
The filters in the Continuum 3D Objects category are hardware accelerated on both NVIDIA and ATI video cards.
Editing and finishing immersive 360 video is a time consuming task. The VR Unit gives editors five new 360 optimized filters to speed up post workflows. Work inside your host timeline while avoiding the seams inherent to regular non-VR filters. Supports 180, 360, mono, and stereoscopic! Based on Mocha VR’s award-winning 360/VR tech.
The new filters are: VR Reorient, VR Insert, VR Blur, VR Sharpen and VR Flicker Fixer. Learn more about the Continuum VR Unit.
With the touch of a button, the FX Browser™ can be launched from within each individual Continuum filter providing instant access to that filters library of animated and static presets. All effect presets play back over the filtered source video in your timeline from within the FX Browser interface, which includes a handy trim feature enabling you to preview only a select portion of the filtered source clip.
Additionally, the FX Browser is available as a standalone filter. This makes it simple to browse the entire Continuum effects presets library over the filtered source - a great way for the novice user to quickly familiarize themselves with the huge array of looks and effects that can be achieved with Continuum filters.
Note: The FX Browser is available in all supported hosts with the exception of Apple FCPX and Apple Motion.
