Free Boris FX Suite Trial

Q: How long is the free trial?

Most trials run for 14 days (Mocha Pro, Optics, Silhouette, Particle Illusion, CrumplePop). Sapphire and Continuum run for 30 days.

Q: Is a credit card required?

No- you don’t need to enter payment information to start a trial. You’ll only be asked for payment details if you decide to purchase.

Q: Can I try more than one product?

Yes. All trials are managed through the Boris FX Hub. Once you’ve downloaded the Hub, you can install and try as many Boris FX products as you like.

Q: Will there be watermarks or limitations?

Sapphire & Continuum: Output includes a red-X watermark during the trial. Mocha Pro: Fully functional for 14 days, then reverts to a limited Learning Edition. Silhouette: Fully functional for 14 days. SynthEyes: Unlimited demo mode with disabled saving, restricted exports (first 10 frames + last frame), 4K input limit, and watermarked features. Optics: 14-day unrestricted trial. Particle Illusion Pro: Free standalone application; background import requires a license; license also required for professional use. CrumplePop: Trial outputs contain an audio watermark; includes two free plugins you can keep. Sequoia & Samplitude: 15-day limited trials (do not include extra third-party content). Music Studio: 15-day unrestricted trial.

Q: What happens when my trial ends?

Trials don’t auto-renew or charge you. Once the trial period expires: Some products stop working until licensed. Others continue in a restricted mode (for example, Mocha Pro’s Learning Edition). To continue full use, you’ll need to purchase a license.

Q: Is Particle Illusion Pro free?

Yes! Particle Illusion Pro includes a free, unrestricted trial with no time limit. Purchasing a license unlocks background import for rendering, and is required if you plan to use Particle Illusion Pro for professional work.
