Active Camera/Object
At any point in time, one camera or moving object is referred to as the Active Tracker Host (or active object for short). The active tracker host is visible on the dropdown of that name on the main toolbar, and is the checked one listed on the Shot menu.
The active tracker host (a moving object or camera) will have its shot shown in the Camera view, and its trackers are visible, selectable, and editable. The active object, or all objects on its shot, will be exported, depending on the exporter.
The active tracker host camera or object is separate from the usual idea of selection. Just because an object is the active host does not mean that it or its trackers are selected (for example, to be deleted by the Delete key).
