Vertex Weight Map Control Dialog

Vertex Weight Map Control Dialog

This dialog is opened from the Vtx Maps button on the GeoH tracking panel. It allows pre-painted maps to be imported and used to configure which vertices are affected by a GeoH object (ie instead of using the GeoH Surface Lasso, GeoH Thru Lasso, and GeoH Paint modes).

To facilitate loading multiple maps, there's no automatic normalization after you import a map. Deformations will occur predictably but probably not as ultimately intended until all maps are loaded. At that time, run the GeoH Check Weights script (with one of its objects selected), and the maps will be normalized.

Set. Button. Click to open a file picker to select an image file as the map.

Clear. Button. Clears the stored file name.

(file name, not shown). Text display. Shows the previously-selected file name.

Channel. Dropdown icon button: Red/Green/Blue/Alpha. Selects which channel from the image will be used to control this particular object. This permits you to use one image to control up to 3 or even 4 different objects, if that makes your painting easier. ( Important: though this has the same icons as the main tracking channel selection on the GeoH panel, these two controls are unrelated, have much different functions, and are generally set differently.)

Unwrap. Button. Brings up a file-write dialog, then produces an unwrapped image of the mesh. You can use this image as the underlying base image to guide your vertex map painting efforts.

Import. Button. Reads the image file and sets the vertex map and weights for the object.

Cancel. Button. Close the dialog, don't make any changes. (Note that just closing this dialog has the same effect.)
