โ€ŒLock Edge

Relax Mesh will normally relax the boundaries of a mesh, which might be the outer edges of a plane, for example, or interior edges such as at eyes, nostrils, or mouth. When they are relaxed, they will pull back, just as if you were melting the edge of a piece of plastic.

To avoid affecting the edges, set Lock Edge to Yes. This will freeze vertices along the boundary of the mesh.
